Live Business Analysis Webinars

Interactive sessions that break down real financial data

We've been running these sessions since late 2023, and honestly, the response caught us off guard. Business owners kept asking for practical examples—not theory, but actual walkthroughs of financial analysis. So that's what we built. Each webinar tackles a specific challenge, using anonymized client scenarios and walking through the analysis step by step.

Upcoming Sessions – Winter 2025

Cash Flow Pattern Recognition

23 July 2025, 6:30 PM AEST 90 minutes

How do you spot trouble before it shows up in your bank balance? We'll look at three businesses—retail, service, and manufacturing—and identify the early warning signs they missed. You'll learn to read your own patterns and adjust before problems escalate.

Led by Briony Caldwell, Senior Financial Analyst

Seasonal Business Planning

6 August 2025, 7:00 PM AEST 75 minutes

If your income swings wildly between months, you need a different planning approach. We'll walk through two case studies—a tourism operator and a landscaping company—showing how they smoothed operations and reduced the stress of feast-or-famine cycles.

Led by Jasper Thornbury, Business Operations Specialist

Profitability Deep Dive

20 August 2025, 6:30 PM AEST 90 minutes

Revenue doesn't equal profit, but many owners don't discover this until too late. This session breaks down margin analysis, overhead allocation, and product line performance. We'll use a real cafe's numbers to show where money was leaking—and how they fixed it.

How Our Sessions Work

These aren't lecture-style presentations. We keep groups small—usually 12 to 18 participants—so there's room for questions. Each session starts with a real scenario, then we work through the analysis together.

  • Live screen sharing as we build financial models and highlight key metrics you should track
  • Q&A throughout—participants often ask about their own situations, which leads to useful tangents
  • Downloadable templates and checklists you can adapt to your business immediately after
  • Follow-up resources sent within 24 hours, including recording access for two weeks

Who Leads These Sessions

Our instructors aren't academics reading from textbooks. They've worked directly with Australian small businesses for years, analyzing everything from corner cafes to mid-sized manufacturing operations. They know what works outside the theory.

Jasper Thornbury business operations specialist and webinar instructor

Jasper Thornbury

Business Operations Specialist

Spent eight years in operational finance before joining our team. Jasper's especially good at explaining complex processes in plain language—probably because he started in hospitality management and remembers what it's like to be overwhelmed by spreadsheets.

Saskia Pemberton financial strategy consultant and analysis instructor

Saskia Pemberton

Financial Strategy Consultant

Previously ran her own consultancy working with regional businesses across NSW. Saskia has a knack for spotting patterns others miss and explaining financial concepts through storytelling rather than jargon. Her sessions tend to run long because people keep asking follow-up questions.

Joining a Webinar Session

1

Register through our contact form

Send us a message indicating which session interests you. We'll reply within one business day with confirmation and a calendar invite. Registration closes 48 hours before each session to keep group sizes manageable.

2

Receive access details and prep materials

Three days before the session, you'll get login instructions and any background reading. This usually includes the anonymized case study we'll analyze, so you can think about it beforehand if you want. But showing up cold works fine too.

3

Join live at scheduled time

Log in a few minutes early to test audio and video. Sessions are recorded, but the real value comes from participating live—asking questions and hearing what challenges others face. Most participants keep cameras on, which makes discussions feel more natural.

4

Access resources and recordings

Within 24 hours, you'll receive templates, additional reading, and a link to the recording. Materials stay accessible, though recordings expire after two weeks. If you need ongoing support, we can discuss follow-up consultations separately.

What You'll Need

Basic tech setup—nothing fancy. If you've done a video call before, you're sorted.

Internet Connection

Standard home broadband works fine. We recommend at least 5 Mbps download speed. If you're worried about connection stability, you can join audio-only and still follow along with screen sharing.

Device Options

Desktop or laptop preferred for seeing financial details clearly. Tablets work if the screen is 10 inches or larger. Mobile phones are technically supported but you'll miss some spreadsheet details—not ideal for these sessions.

Software Requirements

We use standard video conferencing software accessible through web browsers. No special installations required. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge all work well. You'll receive detailed instructions with your confirmation email.

Optional But Helpful

  • Headphones reduce echo and background noise during discussion
  • Second monitor or printed templates let you follow along while taking notes
  • Calculator or spreadsheet open if you want to work through examples simultaneously
